MoSVY Supports Government's Move for Top Leaders' Only Khmer Nationality

Phnom Penh: Minister of Social Affairs, Veterans and Youth Rehabilitation Mr. Vong Sauth has supported the original idea of ​​the Prime Minister of Cambodia, Samdech Techo Hun Sen, who wanted to amend the Constitution to make the top leaders only have Khmer nationality.

MoSVY has stated on Wednesday that the amendment of the Constitution and other laws requires that the President of the Senate, the President of the National Assembly, the Prime Minister and the President of the Constitutional Council have "one Khmer nationality".  

It says, "It is a guarantee, both legal and political, for the four to adhere to loyalty to the motherland, to lead the country in the interests of the nation as a whole, and to oppose Cambodia's internal interference from abroad." On Wednesday morning, Prime Minister Hun Sen has ordered the Minister of Justice to draft a law amending the Constitution, which requires those in charge of the country to have only one Khmer nationality in order to show loyalty to the nation and avoid interference from abroad.
